Métis heritage
In Canada today, we barely here about Méti culture so I want to cherish it and tell people, who are the Méti people? What does Méti mean? Where did the Métis come from? When did the Méti get the name Méti and how?
Méti people have a great impact on our Canadian Heritage. One very big impact that Meti people brought on our Canadian Heritage is because they taught many people how to live off the earth andWho are  cherish for what they have instead of being greedy for thing they want.

Who are the Méti people? Well the Méti people are mixed ancestry of native and European, Which created new Aboriginal people named the Métis. The Metis are unique because the are mixed ancestry & they made a very big difference in society today. How did they make a difference you may wonder. Well they made a difference by telling the stories about the elders life before them to help them learn from others mistakes. They were all very close from there family to there community.

Where did the Metis come from ? They Metis came from all kinds of places. They ventured away from their native land and some ended up here in Saskatchewan. They had to rely on there elders knowledge to survive the long cole winters in Saskatchewan. They used Buffalo hide to create there clothes. They used other animals hide also. when they hunted they never wasted anything on the animal they used there bones for utensils and knives.

The Meti people traded different tools, meats, clothes, hides etc. When they traded they most likely would want to trade for beads, Berry's, breads and other goods. Some Meti people owned there own farm and would trade with other meti people. The meti people were very kind and generous people. This is because they are all very close to each other.

Did you know that the meti people didn't have a word for goodbye because they would see them in the future. The tipis were made by women and the tipis represented a women welcoming her family home from a long day of work. The guys would go hunting to feed there family and would cut the meat so the women could prepare the meal.
